This beautiful antique edition of The Maid of Orleans and The Great War of the English in France by WH Davenport Adams was published by Hutchinson and Co in 1889.
The book is bound in burgundy cloth over bevelled boards with beautiful pictorial and gilt floral decoration to the front board and spine. All edges gilt. It is in very good condition but the book does show a forward lean and there is crushing to the corners. There is light wear and bumping to the board edges. The spine is sunned with rubbing to the decoration and crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, the pages show sporadic foxing and age staining. There are cracks to the gutter in places and two page segments stick out slightly from the edge of the text block.
Dimensions approximately 19.5cm x 14cm x 3.2cm.
All books purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
