This beautiful edition of The Channings by Mrs Henry Wood was published by S W Partridge and Co. The book is undated but there is a written inscription dated 1909. So the book is likely to be from the Edwardian era.
The book is bound in red cloth with stunning pictorial decoration to the front board and spine. It's in good condition, but there is wear to the corners and the boards show some marking and discolouration. The spine is sunned, whilst crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, there is a beautifully written inscription on the front free endpaper. The pages show tanning throughout and sporadic foxing but the text remains clear and bright. There are a handful of black and white illustration plates - these show more pronounced foxing.
Dimensions approximately 19cm x 13.3cm x 4.7cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
