This beautiful edition of Sunday Evenings at Home Stories From History by Rev H.C.Adams was published by George Routledge and Sons. The book itself is undated but there is a presentation plate inside dated 1887.
The book is bound in red cloth with beautiful foliage and floral decoration to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition with the most noticeable flaw being the fading and discolouration to the spine. Crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth. There is light wear to the corners and board edges. The back board shows minor marking.
Inside, there is a written name and date on the front pastedown, alongside a presentation plate. There is slight cracking to the front hinge but the pages remain tightly bound. The pages show light age toning, with occasional foxing and creasing. There are sporadic cracks to the gutter in places.
Dimensions approximately 18.5cm x 12.7cm x 2cm. The book features a handful of black and white plates.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
