This beautiful edition of Flower de Hundred by Mrs Burton Harrison is a Story of A Virginia Plantation. It was published in 1890 by Cassell and Company. The book is bound in grey cloth with beautiful decoration in green and gilt to the front board and spine. It's a striking binding and in very good condition.
The book shows a slight forward lean and there is sunning and dulling to the spine. The corners show light wear and there are minor marks to the back board. The spine ends are crushed.
Inside, the pages are clean and bright with only minor age toning and occasional marking. There is a small tear to the edge of Page 87 (just in the margin - it doesn't reach the text).
Dimensions of each volume is 19.3cm x 13.5cm x 2.8cm.
The books will arrive securely wrapped in bubble wrap, patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
