This lovely First Edition of The Booklover's London was published by Methuen and Co in 1913. The book is bound in half leather with cloth boards.
It's in good condition considering it's over 110 years old but it's showing it's age! There is wear to the corners with loss to the surface of the leather. There is also loss to the surface of the leather of the spine, and loss to the spine ends. There is a crack to the bottom of the external front hinge but the boards feel firmly attached. The spine is faded and rubbed and there are some minor marks to the boards. The text block edges are lightly foxed.
Inside, the endpapers are beautifully marbled and there are no inscriptions or dedications. The pages have light foxing and toning but are in good, antique condition.
There are black and white full page illustrations which help bring this book to life.
Dimensions approximately 18.5cm x 13cm x 3.5cm.
Every book purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I'm gradually in the process of switching to more eco-friendly packaging, including 100% recyclable jiffy bags.
