This beautiful vintage edition of Britain's Queen features the Life and Reign of Queen Victoria and was published by John F Shaw and Co. The book itself isn't dated but I'd estimate it to be from the Edwardian era (1901 - 1910).
The book is bound in red cloth with beautiful floral decoration to the front board and spine. It's in good condition for it's age but there is quite substantial discolouration and soiling to the cloth. The cloth covering the back board is rippled in places and there is light wear to the corners. The spine is very faded, and crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, the pages show significant tanning and there are some superficial cracks to the gutter - despite this the pages remain tightly bound. There are some small tears to the pages edges in places and creasing to the paper.
Dimensions approximately 21cm x 15cm x 4cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
