This beautiful vintage edition of Hereward the Wake by Charles Kingsley was published by Collins Clear Type Press. The book itself is undated but these editions usually dated from the 1920's.
The book is bound in blue cloth with pretty decoration and colour onlays to the front board and spine. It's a striking binding and in good condition - there is light rubbing to the corners and marking to the boards. The onlay to the spine has some chipping and there is minor foxing to the text block edges.
Inside, the endpapers are beautifully illustrated and there are no inscriptions. The pages show minor age toning and sporadic foxing. There are occasional cracks to the gutters but the pages remain tightly bound.
The book features a handful of colour plates by Arthur A Dixon.
The book will be posted hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
