This beautiful antique edition of Flowers of the Farm was part of the Countryside Series by Henry Frowde. The book itself is undated but after some research I've managed to date it to between 1911 and 1919 - there is a written inscription inside dated 1915.
The book is in good condition with just light wear to the corners and board edges which has caused some surface loss to the paper. The spine is darkened with chipping to the surface of the paper; crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting. The book shows a slight forward lean and there is minor marking to the text block edges.
Inside, there is a written inscription on the verso of the FFEP. The pages show light age toning, with scattered foxing. There are a combination of colour plates and black and white illustrations within the text. There are occasional cracks to the gutter but the pages remain tightly bound.
Dimensions approximately 17.8cm x 12cm x 1cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
