This lovely and striking edition of Elizabeth and her German Garden by Elizabeth von Arnim was published by Macmillan and Co Ltd in 1901. The book is bound in original green cloth with stunning pictorial decoration and gilt lettering to the front board and spine. It's a really eye catching book and in very good condition. There is discolouration to the front, spine and edges of the back board. The cloth has minor marks and there is a scuff mark to the back board.
Inside, there is bookseller's stamp to the bottom corner of the front pastedown and a written inscription on the front free endpaper. The pages show light age toning.
There are beautiful black and white Photogravure Illustration plates throughout which bring this lovely book to life.
Dimensions approximately 20.5cm x 14.3cm x 3.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% biodegradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
