This beautiful edition of The Amateur's Flower Garden by Shirley Hibberd was published by W.H & L Collingridge in 1897.
Its is bound in original publisher's green cloth with stunning floral decoration to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition but the book does show a forward lean and light wear to the corners. The green cloth shows minor marks and scuffs and there is crushing to the spine ends.
Inside the hinges are cracked but the pages remain tightly bound. There is one fold out colour plate for the frontispiece - the rest of the illustrations are black and white. The pages show age toning and heavy foxing throughout. There are some cracks to the gutter but as mentioned above, the pages remain tightly bound.
The book features black and white illustrations throughout.
Dimensions are approximately 18.8cm x 13.7cm x 3.2cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% biodegradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
