This beautiful edition of The Flower Garden was published by W.H & L Collingridge. The title page is undated but the foreword is dated 1907. So the book is from the Edwardian era.
Its is bound in original publisher's green cloth over bevelled boards with stunning pictorial flowers to the front cover. It's in good condition with the main flaw being the sunning to the spine. The spine edges are rubbed and there is crushing to the spine ends. The corners and board edges are lightly worn and bumped, whilst the back board shows white spotting. There is foxing to the text block edges.
Inside there is a name plate glued to the front pastedown and a rubbed out pencil price to the front free endpaper. The endpapers show tanning and foxing. The rest of the pages show lighter age toning and sporadic foxing.
The book features black and white illustrations throughout.
Dimensions are approximately 19cm x 13.3cm x 3.8cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% biodegradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
