This lovely vintage edition of Persuasion by Jane Austen was published by W Heffer and Sons Ltd. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be from the 1940's.
When I acquired it, the book was bound in plain textured navy leather, with simple gilt lettering to the spine. It didn't feel like the binding did justice to Jane Austen so I contacted one of my incredible book restorers and asked if she could turn it into something more worthy of Austen! The result is stunning. She has hand painted a portrait of Anne Elliot looking out over the sea, surrounded by pink flowers.

The book is in excellent condition with only light scuffing to the leather.
Inside, the pages are clean and bright, with only light age toning and occasional foxing. There are occasional pencilled lines in the margin.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
