This beautiful first edition of Northern Trails by William J-Long was published by Ginn and Company in 1905. The book is bound in green cloth with black blind stamped detail and gilt to the front cover and spine.
The book is in good condition but has noticeable discolouration to the edges of the boards; the corners are bumped and worn. The boards have some marks and there is noticeable sunning to the spine. The spine ends are worn and split. The text block is shaky and there is wear to the board edges.
Inside, there is bookseller's sticker on the front endpaper and some pencil annotations. The front hinge is cracked, revealing the webbing, and there are also cracks to the gutter in places throughout the book. The pages have some marks and foxing - there is also water staining to the bottom of the middle pages
The book features striking black and white illustrations which make it an extra special read.
