This beautiful antique edition of English Verse from 1250 to 1900 was published by Oxford Clarendon Press in 1902. So the book is from the early Edwardian era.
The book is bound in half Morocco, with marbled paper boards and two raised bands to the spine. The spine also features delicate floral gilt work in an art nouveau style.
It's in very good condition for it's age, but there is wear to the corners and board edges. The leather at the corners is split to reveal the board beneath. The boards have some light scuffing and marking, and there is a faint scratch to the front board. The spine has some discolouration and minor marking, and there is minor loss to the surface of the leather in places.
Inside, the endpapers are marbled and there is a written inscription in pen to one of the preliminary blank pages. The pages show sporadic foxing throughout, but the text is clear and bright. This is a chunky book with over 1000 pages!

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
