This stunning antique edition of Early Britain by Alfred J Church was published by Fisher Unwin. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be late Victorian or Edwardian. It is finely bound in full calf, with a blind stamped school insignia to the front. There are five raised bands and gilt tooling to the spine. All edges gilt.
The book is in near fine condition with light scuffing to the leather. There is light wear to the board edges and the boards are slightly bowed. The spine is faintly sunned.
Inside, the endpapers are marbled and there is a written inscription alongside some pencilled writing on one of the preliminary blank pages. The pages are clean and bright with only light age toning and scattered foxing.
Dimensions approximately 20cm x 14.2cm x 3.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is either oxo-degradable (pale green in colour) or upcycled from deliveries I've had (this is clear and fully recyclable). The jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
