This lovely miniature book of The Poetical and Dramatic Works of Samuel Taylor Coleridge was published in 1837 - making it almost 190 years old. So the book was published either in the very first year of Queen Victoria's reign, or at the very end of the Georgian era.
The little book is bound in deep blue grey cloth with blind stamped detail to the boards and gold gilt to the spine. It's in remarkably good condition seeing as this is the original binding. There is light wear and crushing to the corners, and bumping to the board edges. The boards show faint marks and discolouration, but the spine is more noticeably sunned. There is crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there is very slight cracking to the front internal hinge and there is a written name on the front free endpaper. The pages show significant age toning throughout, with some sporadic foxing, marking and creasing in places.
Dimensions approximately 11cm x 7.2cm x 2.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned brown paper and string.
