This stunning antique edition of Kenilworth by Sir Walter Scott was published by Thomas Nelson and Sons. The book itself is undated but I've seen these bindings with inscriptions and they usually date from the late Edwardian era - circa 1910.
The book is bound in red cloth with beautiful floral decoration to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition but there is some wear to the corners which has caused minor fraying. The text block edges show foxing and there is a bump to the bottom edge of the back board. There is light wear to the bottom of the front board and the spine is lightly sunned.
Inside, there are no inscriptions or writing of any kind - the pages show sporadic foxing, most prominent to the page edges.
The book features eight colour illustration plates.
Dimensions approximately 19.3cm x 14.5cm x 4cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
