This lovely two volume edition (first and second series) of The Children's Book of Wild Flowers by Gareth H Browning was published by W & R Chambers Ltd in 1929. The books are uniformly bound in burgundy cloth with gilt lettering to the fronts and spines.
They are in very good condition but do show light soiling and foxing to the text block edges. There is bumping to the corners (with one corner being more noticeably dented). The spines are faintly sunned.
Inside, there are no inscriptions and the pages just show light age toning and occasional foxing. The text is clear and bright. The books are filled with colour plates by MC Pollard.
Dimensions of each volume approximately 20.8cm x 15.5cm x 4cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
