This beautiful vintage edition of What Katy Did by Susan Coolidge was published by Collins Clear Type Press. The book itself is undated but there is a written inscription dated 1922.
The book is bound in blue cloth with beautiful pictorial decoration to the front board and spine. It's a striking binding and in very good condition - there is rubbing to the corners and extremities of the book. There is a very small hole in the cloth covering the edge of the front board. The spine edges are rubbed and crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, the endpapers are tanned and there is a written inscription on the front free endpaper. The pages show age quite pronounced foxing in places and there are occasional cracks to the gutter - despite this, the pages remain tightly bound.
Dimensions approximately 18.8cm x 13cm x 2.3cm. The book features a handful of black and white plates.
The book will be posted hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
