This beautiful edition of Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe was published by Seeley and Co. The book itself is undated but there is a presentation plate inside dated 1916. The book is bound in red cloth with striking floral decoration to the front board and spine. It's got quite an art nouveau feel to it.
This pretty book is in very good condition with the main condition points being the dent to the top edge of the front board which has caused slight damage and the faint sunning to the spine. The corners are lightly worn and there is crushing to the spine ends which has caused minor splitting in the cloth. There is foxing to the text block edges.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown. The pages show scattered foxing throughout, with light age toning to the paper. The book features beautiful illustrations by both HM Brock and Louis Betts. There are occasional cracks to the gutter but the pages remain tightly bound.

I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
