This lovely antique edition of The Poetical Works of Robert Browning was published by Nimmo, Hay and Mitchell. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be from the very end of the Victorian era (circa 1890/1900).
This lovely book is bound in blue cloth over bevelled boards, with delicate decoration in black and gilt to the front board and spine. The edges are all gilt. It's in very good condition but there is wear to the corners and board edges. The cover has some spotting and marking, and the spine is lightly sunned. Crushing to the spine ends has caused some minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, the front free endpaper has been removed so the book opens onto the half title page. There is a name penned to the half title page. The pages show age toning throughout with some creasing to the paper.
Dimensions approximately 19cm x 13.3cm x 3.7cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
