This beautiful edition of The Chautauqua Girls at Home by Pansy was published by S W Partridge and Co. The book is undated but there is a written inscription inside dated 1896. So the book is from the late Victorian era.
The book is bound in an unusual coral pink cloth, with pretty floral decoration to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition but there is some rubbing to the corners and sunning to the spine. The spine ends are crushed and the book shows a slight forward lean.
Inside, there is a written inscription on the reverse of the front free endpaper and a newspaper clipping has left tanning on the frontispiece and title page. The pages show age toning throughout, with occasional marking and foxing. There are some cracks to the gutter in places but the pages remain tightly bound.
Dimensions approximately 18.7cm x 13.3cm x 2.8cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
