This stunning edition of The Saucy May by Henry Firth was published by Blackie and Son; even though the book itself is undated there is a presentation plate dated 1910. So the book is Edwardian.
The book is bound in blue cloth with a beautiful pattern of yellow flowers to the front board and spine. It's in good condition with most of the wear being to the spine which shows rubbing and sunning. There is marking and scuffing to the back board and very faint water damage to the top of the board. The text block edges show foxing.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown and the owner obviously lent the books out to friends because there is writing on the half title page stating when the book had to be returned (the opposite page shows evidence of something being removed. The pages show light age toning and sporadic foxing but are otherwise clean and bright.

All books purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
