This stunning edition of Madge's Mistake by Annie E Armstrong was published by Blackie and Son; even though the book itself is undated, there is a presentation plate dated 1902. So the book is either late Victorian or early Edwardian.
The book is bound in blue cloth with a beautiful pattern of yellow flowers to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition, with just light wear and crushing to the corners. There is bumping to the top of the board edges and there is minor marking to the boards. The top edge of the text block has some small splash marks; there is light sunning to the spine and crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown and tanning to the endpapers. Some of the pages have been dog eared which has left creasing behind.
Dimensions approximately 18.7cm x 13cm x 2.3cm.
All books purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
