This stunning edition of The Reign of the Princess Naska by Amelia Hutchinson Stirling was published by Blackie and Son in 1899. It is bound in navy cloth with beautiful art nouveau decoration to the front board and spine.
It's in good condition but does show a slight forward lean, with wear and crushing to the corners. There is light bumping to the board edges and sunning to the spine. Crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth. The boards show minor marks and there are some small areas of staining and discolouration near the edge of the front board.
Inside, there is a written inscription on the front free endpaper and another on the verso of the frontispiece. The pages show light age toning and occasional foxing - there are also sporadic cracks to the gutter but the pages remain securely bound.
Dimensions approximately 19.2cm x 14.3cm x 2.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
