This stunning edition of Three Girls in Mexico by Bessie Marchant was published by Blackie and Son. The book is undated but there is a presentation plate inside dated 1913. So the book was published just after the end of the Edwardian era. The binding reminiscent of Talwin Morris but I'm not sure if it is one of his. It's bound in original publisher's cloth with spine and front covered in cream and green floral decoration. The front board has a colour onlay.
It's in very good condition, with just light wear to the corners and chips to the front illustration. The book shows a forward lean and there is foxing to the text block edges. The boards show some minor scuffs and marks; there is also bumping to the board edges and crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front free endpaper and the frontispiece is detached. The pages show foxing and age toning throughout, with occasional marking. There are some small tears and chips to the page edges in places.
Dimensions approximately 19.7cm x 14.5cm x 4.8cm.
