This beautiful edition of The Lady of the Forest by LT Meade was published by S W Partridge and Co. The book is undated but there is a written dedication dated 1904. So the book is likely to be from the Edwardian era.
The book is bound in red cloth with stunning pictorial decoration to the front board and spine. It's in good condition, with the most noticeable flaws being to the spine - there is fading to the spine, whilst crushing to the spine ends has caused splitting and minor loss to the cloth. The boards show minor discolouration and marking.
Inside, there is a beautifully written dedication on the front free endpaper. The pages show tanning throughout but the text remains clear and bright. There is sporadic foxing and occasional marking.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
