This beautiful vintage edition of Valentine Vox The Ventriloquist by Henry Cockton was published by Milner and Company. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to have been published circa 1890.
The book is bound in blue cloth with ornate floral decoration to the front board and spine, in black and gilt. It's in good condition with just a slight forward lean; the corners are worn through to the board beneath. The boards show minor marking and there is rubbing and bumping to the board edges. There is rubbing to the spine edges, sunning to the spine, and crushing to the spine ends. The text block edges are lightly foxed.
Inside, there is cracking to the internal hinges and tanning to the endpapers. There is a neatly written name on the front free endpaper. The pages show age toning and scattered foxing throughout.
The book will be posted hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
