This beautiful vintage edition of Danesbury House by Mrs Henry Wood was published by Collins Clear Type Press. The book itself is undated but I'd estimate it to be early 20th century - circa 1910's or 1920's.
The book is bound in red cloth over bevelled boards, with beautiful pictorial decoration to the front board and spine. It's a really striking binding with the woman gathering flowers to the front board. It's in very good condition but the book does show a slight forward lean. There is tanning to the text block edges and light bumping to the board edges. The boards show light rubbing and discolouration and the spine is faintly sunned.
Inside, the pages show significant tanning throughout, with occasional marking. There are some superficial cracks to the gutter in places but the pages remain tightly bound. There are occasional chips and small tears to the page edges. The book features eight colour plates. Dimensions approximately 19.8cm x 13.8cm x 5cm.
The books will be posted hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
