This little treasure of a book features a collection of sketches in pencil and dates from the 19th Century - many of the pencil drawings are dated for the 1880's.
Outwardly, the book is quite plain - there is wear to the corners and minor loss to the cloth. The book is missing it's ribbon tie but does still have the loop which would have been used to hold the pencil. There is light marking and rubbing to the boards and the spine has some minor chipping and loss to the surface.
Inside, the book features pencil sketches from a variety of places - The Isle of Man, Jersey, Sussex etc. It's lovely to see a handful of people featured and wondering who they were. My favourite sketch is one of the seaside - and features a few of the famous SeaBathing machines very popular with Georgian and Victorian ladies.
Dimensions approximately 17.5cm x 12cm x 1.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
