This beautiful edition of Christmas Stories - including A Christmas Carol - by Charles Dickens was published by The Heirloom Library. It still has it's original dust jacket which is protected by clear plastic. . Sadly the book is undated but from other books I've seen in this series, I'd estimate it to be from the 1950's or 1960's.
The book features beautiful decorative boards with a Christmas themed pattern. There is light wear to the corners and crushing to the spine ends. The text block edges show foxing. The DJ shows some wear and tear around the edges and corners, with minor loss to the paper in places. The biggest tear is a vertical tear to the back cover at the bottom. The DJ also shows some marking and soiling.
Inside, the book features wonderfully decorative endpapers and there are no inscriptions. The pages show occasional marking and sporadic foxing but are otherwise clean and bright. It features a collection of beautiful illustrations throughout, both in the form of colour plates and black and white illustrations.
Dimensions approximately 22cm x 15cm x 3.7cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
