This beautiful antique edition of Between Two Opinions by Mary E Palgrave was published by The Religious Tract Society. This particular edition isn't dated but there is an inscription inside dated 1914. So the book is over 110 years old.
This pretty cloth binding feels very Victorian in style and yet it's not quite old enough! The brown cloth features pretty floral decoration to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition, but there is significant foxing to the text block edges. There is some very minor marking and chipping to the boards but this is minimal. The spine is sunned, which has caused the cloth to darken, and there is crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there is a written inscription on the front free endpaper and there is some sporadic foxing. Sadly there is a long cut to page 49 (see photo).
Dimensions approximately 18.5cm x 12.5cm x 3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
