This beautiful edition of Another Book of Verse for Children was published by Wells Gardner Darton and Co in 1907. So the book is from Edwardian era.
It's bound in pale beige cloth with stunning pictorial decoration and gold gilt to the front board and spine. It's in good condition, but there is significant soiling and darkening to the cloth. There is some minor marking and rubbing to the boards and the corners show light wear. There are some very small chips and holes in the cloth along the board edges. The spine is sunned and dulled, with rubbing to the decoration. Crushing to the spine ends has caused splitting in the cloth.
Inside, the endpapers are beautifully illustrated and there is just a neatly written inscription in pencil on the front pastedown. The pages show age toning throughout, with sporadic marking and foxing in places. There are some superficial cracks to the gutter in places but the pages remain tightly bound.
Dimensions approximately 21cm x 15.5cm x 3.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
