This beautiful vintage edition of Alice by Lord Lytton was published by R E King. There is no date inside but from my own research I estimate the book to be circa 1900.
The book features original maroon cloth boards with blind stamped decoration in black to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition, with just some small marks to the back board and some chipping to the white lettering on the front board. The spine is sunned and there is crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, the pages show quite significant age toning and occasional foxing. There are some superficial cracks to the gutter but the pages remain tightly bound.
Dimensions approximately 18.2cm x 13cm x 2.7cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
