This beautiful edition of Bluebell by Emma Marshall was published by John F Shaw. The book itself is undated but there is a written inscription inside dated 1914. So the book is early 20th century.
The book is bound in green cloth with pictorial decoration to the front board and spine - it features knights helmets and weapons which makes it very attractive. It's in very good condition but does show a pronounced forward lean. There are some minor marks to the boards and some small air bubbles under the cloth. The spine is sunned with crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, the pages show age toning throughout with sporadic foxing and age staining. There is a written inscription on the verso of the frontispiece and there are some pressed plants tucked within the pages.
Dimensions approximately 19cm x 14cm x 4.2cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
