This beautiful antique George Eliot book contains three of her short works - Silas Marner, The Lifted Veil and Brother Jacob. The book was published in 1906 by Henry Frowde; so the book is from the mid Edwardian era. It's quarter bound in vellum with red cloth boards.
The book is in good condition but there is marking and staining to the boards, and wear to the corners. The vellum has some soiling and discolouration, more noticeably to the spine.
Inside, the pages show light age toning but are remarkably clean and bright, with only occasional minor marking. There are two names - one on the front pastedown and one of the front free endpaper.
Dimensions approximately 16cm x 10.5cm x 2.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
