This beautiful antique edition of The Poetical Works of John Milton was published by Oxford Clarendon Press in 1900. So the book is from the very end of the Victorian era. The book is bound in half Morocco, with brown cloth boards and three raised bands to the spine. The spine also features delicate floral gilt work in an art nouveau style. Top edge gilt. 

It's in very good condition for it's age, but there is wear to the corners and board edges. The boards have some light scuffing and marking; the spine is sunned with some small scuffs. 

Inside, the endpapers are marbled and there are no inscriptions. The pages show light age toning and sporadic foxing.

Book dimensions approximately 19.7cm x 14cm x 4.8cm. 

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.

I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
