This beautiful antique edition of Alpine Flowers for English Gardens by W Robinson was published by John Murray in 1870. The book is bound in blue cloth with gilt decoration to the front board and spine. It's a very attractive book and in very good condition.
There is light wear and crushing to the corners and the book has a slight forward lean. There is some foxing to the text block edges. There is light bumping to the board edges and sunning to the spine. Crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, the pages show light age toning throughout, with scattered creasing and foxing. There are pretty black and white illustrations within the text.
Book dimensions approximately 20.5cm x 13.5cm x 3.4cm.
The book will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
