This beautiful antique book Aldersyde A Border Story by Annie S Swan was published by Oliphant, Anderson and Ferrier in 1893.
The book is bound in blue cloth with stunning pictorial detail to the front board and spine. It depicts a study with books piled on the bookcase and on the table. It's in very good condition with just light wear to the corners and minor marking to the boards. The spine is faintly sunned, with crushing to the spine ends which has caused minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, the endpapers are tanned and there is a slight crack to the front hinge. The pages show light age toning and occasional foxing. There is also the occasional crack to the gutter in places but the pages remain tightly bound.
Dimensions approximately 19.3cm x 13.5cm x 2.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
