This lovely half leather book is just one volume in what would originally have been an entire set of the Works of Maria Edgeworth. There were originally 18 volumes in the set. It was published in 1833 by Baldwin and Cradock so the book is from the very end of the Georgian era.
It's in good condition but there is sunning to the spine and around the edges of the boards. The corners are worn and crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting and loss to the cloth.
Inside, there is a library stamp to the front free endpaper and there is cracking to the gutter just after the FFEP. The pages show age toning and sporadic foxing - the foxing is most prominent to the preliminary and end pages.
Dimensions approximately 16.7cm x 11cm x 2.3cm.
The books will arrive securely wrapped in bubble wrap, patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
