This listing is for volume two of the Ladies Magazine, published in 1831. It's bound in half leather with gilt lettering to the spine. It's definitely showing it's age, with significant wear and loss to the corners. There is also wear and loss to the paper covering the boards The boards show scuffing and the spine is lightly sunned. There is loss to the leather at the head of the spine and a split starting to the bottom of the back joint.
Inside, the FFEP and the frontispiece are missing (the book opens onto the title page) and there is cracking to the front hinge. The pages show soiling, tanning and age staining throughout but the text is still clearly legible. A tear to the title page has been repaired with tape. There are some black and white plates, as well as the hand coloured fashion plates. Some of the pages show creasing. Other than the frontispiece, one other (black and white) illustration is missing - that of King William the Fourth. Thankfully all of the hand coloured fashion plates are present.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% biodegradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
