So the book is from the mid Victorian era. It's bound in original green cloth over bevelled boards. There is black and gilt decoration to the front and spine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt's in good condition but the book does show a forward lean, whilst wear to the corners has caused very slight splitting in the cloth. The board edges are lightly bumped and there is minor marking to the boards. The spine is sunned, with dulling to the gilt and cloth; crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside, there is a penned name and address to the front pastedown and a pencilled inscription to the front free endpaper, along with a bookseller's stamp. There is cracking to the hinges and to the gutter in places throughout the book, revealing the binding thread. The text block is a bit shaky but all pages are securely bound. There is age toning and sporadic foxing to the paper, with occasional handling\/finger marks. There is one stunning colour plate and each chapter is headed by a black and white illustration. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDimensions approximately 18.7cm x 13.5cm x 2cm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable.
