The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be circa 1880's\/1890's. The book was part of the Family Gift Series which started around 1877 and continued through to the late 19th century. It's bound in original green cloth with blind stamped decoration in black, silver and gilt to the front and spine. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt's in very good condition with the main flaw being a small hole in the cloth of the spine. The spine is faintly sunned and the book shows a slight forward lean. Crushing to the spine ends has caused very minor splitting in the cloth. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside, the pages are clean and bright with sporadic foxing. The frontispiece is tanned and there are occasional cracks to the gutter - one page segment feels very slightly loose but the rest of the pages remain tightly bound. The book features both black and white plates and black and white illustrations within the text. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDimensions approximately 18.1cm x 12.8cm x 3cm. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable.
