It's the first edition thus (first illustrated edition by Arthur Rackham). Arthur Rackham has become one of the most sought after illustrators for book collectors. The book is filled with stunning tipped in colour plates, each with their own captioned tissue guard, as well as black and white line drawings. The book has an archival quality plastic jacket. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe book is in good plus condition but has undergone some restoration in the form of a cloth spine reback - this is where a new piece of cloth is inserted for the spine, and the original spine is attached over the top. There is wear and bumping to the board edges and corners, with splitting to the cloth at the corners which has caused splitting in the cloth. There is some minor scuffing and marking to the boards, with the most noticeable marks being where some tape has been removed (holding the spine in place before the book underwent restoration). There is fading to the original spine and some loss to the spine ends. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside, the hinges have been reinforced with tape and the free endpapers are tanned. There are small tears to the edges of the front free endpaper and the half title page. The pages show age toning throughout with sporadic marking and foxing. There is creasing to some of the captioned tissue guards; one tipped in colour plate is missing it's tissue guard and has been reattached with tape (it must have been detached and has suffered some wear and tear to the edges). \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDimensions approximately 25cm x 19.5cm x 6cm. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable.
