Louisa Stuart Costello's charming poetry collection of versions of poems and poem extracts taken from Persia.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe book was from the library of Audrey Pleydell-Bouverie, at Julians Park in Hertfordshire. After being widowed at 25, Audrey married twice more - first to the wealthy American department store heir, Marshall Field III. She later divorced him and married the Honorable Peter Pleydell-Bouverie. In 1940 she bought Julians Park and redesigned the interior - creating a large and impressive library. She was also Lady-in-Waiting to the Queen and counted the likes of Cecil Beaton, Coco Chanel, Salvador Dali and Fred and Adele Astaire in her social circle.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt's in very good condition but there is marking to the boards; there is chipping and minor surface loss to the leather in places. The spine edges are rubbed. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside, the Hatchards of Piccadilly stamp is in the top corner of the reverse of the FFEP. The pages show light age toning and sporadic foxing. There is a chip to the edge of the tissue guard for the frontispiece. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are four\u003cspan\u003e chromolithograph plates (including the frontispiece) and eleven illuminated title pages. \u003c\/span\u003eDimensions approximately 19.7cm x 12.2cm x 2.8cm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable.
