The spine features five raised bands and gilt decoration, including a coat of arms near the bottom of the spine. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe book features a collection of writings by John Ruskin, as chosen by his close friend, Susanna Beever (referred to as the \"younger lady of the Thwaite\"). She chose the passages based on her personal favorites to showcase Ruskin's thoughts on art, nature, and moral philosophy. They had such a close friendship that John Ruskin requested to be buried next to her after his own death - they lie in graves next to each other in Coniston, Cumbria. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt's in near fine condition with minor scuffs and marks to the boards. The spine is slightly darkened, as are the edges of the front board. There is light wear to the board edges and corners. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown. There is foxing to the preliminary and end pages but the rest of the pages are clean and bright. The title page has a finger mark. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDimensions approximately 19cm x 13cm x 3.5cm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable.
