They've covered the majority of the pages with old religious images, cut from other books and stuck into this. So even though the book was once a French Language of Flowers in a fine leather binding, it now resembles a scrapbook. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is bound in full leather with gilt decoration to the boards and spine. Due to the sheer volume of illustrations that have been stuck inside, the binding is too small for the text block and this has left the boards bowed. There is also splitting starting to the top of the joints, and strain to the bottom joints. There is wear and crushing to the corners and the leather shows some scuff marks. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside, the hinge has broken after the front free endpaper - I haven't repaired it because the joints can't cope with the size of the text block. The majority of pages have had religious illustrations and cards glued over them so there's very little of the original Langage des Fleurs book left. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDimensions approximately 14.6cm x 9.7cm x 2.9cm. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
