This beautiful antique edition of Leaders of Empires was published by Gall and Inglis. It features four leaders from history - Queen Victoria, Napoleon, Prince Bismarck and Frederick the Great. The book itself is undated but there is a written inscription inside dated 1905. So the book is likely to be from the mid Edwardian era.
The book is bound in blue cloth with stunning pictorial decoration to the front board and spine. It's a really eye catching binding. It's in good condition for it's age but there is some loss to the colour of the cloth on the front board. The corners are lightly worn and the boards show light marking and soiling. The spine edges are rubbed and there is wear and chipping to the gilt title on the spine.
Inside, there is a written inscription on the front free endpaper. The pages have light age toning with occasional marking. There are superficial cracks to the gutter in places but all pages remain tightly bound.
Dimensions approximately 20cm x 14.5cm x 3.6cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% biodegradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
