This beautiful edition of Sable and White by Gordon Stables was published by Jarrold and Sons. The book itself is undated but I'd estimate it to be from the Edwardian era (circa 1900-1910).
The book is bound in red cloth with beautiful rose decoration to the front board. It's a striking binding and in good condition, with the most noticeable wear being the sunning and marking to the spine. There is some discolouration to the back board and the text block edges show light foxing.
Inside, the endpapers are tanned and a name has been rubbed out on the FFEP. The pages show light age toning and occasional foxing. There is one black and white frontispiece.
Dimensions approximately 19cm x 12.7cm x 4cm.
All books purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
